Pt 2 - Day 2 - Uluru and the Olgas

Today we woke up to drizzling rain again, which we thought wasn't the best way to view the rock but we couldn't do much about it.  We headed out to Uluru and did a walk which took us to some caves and we learnt some aboriginal history surrounding the rock.  As it was drizzly the actual climb was  closed, which I was very thankful for as Glen and Tori were very keen to do the climb and it was a lot steeper than I had expected.   We then went on to another walk which took us to a watering hole which was very peaceful and tranquil until our children arrived!!!!
Me - enjoying the peace and listening to the rock!!
Then we went out to the Olgas which were most impressive.  It was at about 1:30pm that we decided that the overcast day we had scored was just perfect, as it wasn't too hot, the rain had stopped and it was cool enough to do some more exploring!!  The Olgas were a 45 km drive and we did a walk to the lookout which was most impressive.  The children convinced us that we didn't need to do the gorge walk as well, and when we added up the km's on the way  home, they had already done about 5.5km for the day which was probably enough for the two little ones.

This evening we headed back to do the sunset viewing, however due to the overcast weather the rock didn't change colour much at all, but it was fun all the same!!!
